This free arts programming is intended for queer, trans, and questioning folks. All our in person events are masks required, but we can provide masks on site.

Our afternoon sessions from 1-3pm are on April 14th, May 19th and June 16th. Our evening sessions from 4-6pm are on May 5th and June 2nd. All these programs will take place out of Wonder’neath’s project room at 2482 Maynard St. Kjipuktuk/ Halifax. Access notes for this space can be found in @queercreativesspace bio

This arts programming is free, but we do accept financial or art materials donations. These sessions are also all ages and drop in friendly. Snacks, a low sensory space, noise canceling headphones, and stim toys will be on site. The space is also wheelchair accessible, and has gender neutral washrooms with sharps boxes, change tables, and grab bars.

Each session will have a focused project that facilitators will provide instructions and guidance for. The materials and tools for these focal point projects will be provided for free. Folks are more than welcome to bring their own tools and materials though to work on personal projects, so long as they aren’t sensory or space intensive.

This programming is made possible by the financial support of Arts NS, and Support 4 Culture. We’re also grateful to Wonder’neath for allowing us to borrow their tools and project room. Eyelevel has also been generous with providing high quality masks through their masks bank. They’ve also been allowing us to use their air purifiers and other COVID preventative tools.

For QCS’s programming to run past June we have to secure more funding as a heads up. Our current funding ends June 16th, so if you want to come to one of our sessions but haven’t yet, you may want to catch one of these dates. We are actively pursuing ways to continue to fund this program though, as we believe COVID conscious queer arts spaces are important.
